Ayesha Durrani is a leading contemporary miniature artist. A pioneer and feminist, Ayesha Durrani has a B.A. degree from Jinnah College for Women in Peshawar, Pakistan, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from National College of Arts, Lahore, and an M.F.A. from the Transart Institute of Plymouth University, England.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries in London, New York, New Delhi, Dubai, France and across Pakistan. As well as featured prominently at international art auctions in UK & USA including at Christie's and Sotheby’s.

Ayesha Durrani’s visited Bethel for the Greer Fine Arts Endowment, the Lena Waltner Visiting Artist Endowment Fund within the visual arts and design department at Bethel, and the Bethel College Women’s Association’s Carolyn Schultz Lectureship Endowment.

Her miniatures explore themes of female bondage, arranged marriages and the role and place of women in Pakistani culture and society. The artist skillfully employs images of roses and mannequins to suggest loss of personality or societal expectations and social contraints imposed on women.
